Small bathrooms can feel like such a challenge to redesign, especially when you are trying to find fittings that you love but you are also having to make sure that those fittings are practical and will work in the space you have. It can be done and done to a high standard at that; it just takes some time in working it all out.

Over the last few months, we had the pleasure of working with JP Clark from JP’s Life And Loves to help him in redesigning his compact bathroom in his new harbour deckhouse. It was an incredibly small space that needed a contemporary design for it to be brought to the 21st century, and the end result does not disappoint.

JP opted for our VOLATO 50cm floor standing steel washstand in matte black because he, and we quote, “totally fell in love with it”. It has minimalist and industrial design elements, but it also provides some storage solutions with the integrated shelf and towel bar, making it functional as well as visually stunning. The design also allows it to feel somewhat understated so that it does not feel it is taking up too much space within the bathroom, which was essential in this case.

The INDIGO 50cm washbasin pairs perfectly with this washstand, and as JP opted for the no tap hole version, a sleek wall-mounted basin mixer was needed. He chose the COS wall-mounted basin mixer with one plate which suits the washstand aesthetic beautifully with its curved design, and of course, the matte black finish. By choosing the no tap hole washbasin and a wall-mounted basin mixer, it has helped to increase the amount of ledge space on the washbasin for displaying toiletries - a simple but clever storage solution.
